What we collect, what we never expose, and the controls you have over both.

Starter policy for the MVP · must be reviewed by a qualified professional before public launch

Draft document

This is a starter policy written for the MVP. It is not legal advice and must be reviewed by a qualified professional before public launch.

Location

We store precise coordinates only to calculate distance on our servers. We never expose your exact latitude/longitude, home address, live location, or location history to other members. Others see only approximate distance and general area, and you can hide even those.

Data we collect

Account details, profile information you provide, photos you upload, and the activity needed to operate matching and messaging. We collect only what the product needs to work.

  • Account — email address, password hash, date of birth (for the 18+ check), account status.
  • Profile — display name, bio, gender, occupation, education, height, city and area, interests, photos.
  • Activity — likes, passes, matches, messages, blocks, reports, and notification preferences.
  • Technical — the minimum needed for security, rate-limiting and abuse prevention.

How we use it

To show you relevant people nearby, to open conversations after a mutual like, to send the notifications you have opted into, and to keep the platform safe. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Your controls

  • Edit or hide your profile at any time.
  • Control distance and area visibility independently.
  • Leave location-based discovery entirely.
  • Turn off each category of email notification.
  • Block or report any member.
  • Delete your account and your personal data.

Retention

Deleting your account anonymises your profile immediately and deletes your photos. Reports involving your account are retained for safety purposes, as described above.
